Missouri Morgans is dedicated to preserving the gaited Morgan through quality breeding of confirmed gait, and "our" desirable Morgan type.  We've had the opportunity of locating other quality gaited Morgans and placing them with new owners searching for a gaited horse.   We make an effort to reach out and educate the equine industry as a whole, to bring awareness of the smooth gaits available in Morgans, and the importance of the contribution Morgans have made to other breeds by participating in Horse Fest,  Farm Fest and other such events.  Membership in 2 regional Morgan Horse Clubs and providing gaited Morgans to ride at meetings, has opened the door of some considerate thought to gaited Morgan horses within the Morgan world.   We support numerous area saddle clubs, FFA, and 4-H organizations through sponsorships and our Always Welcome policy at the farm has provided several hands on opportunities to the agricultural minded youth of our community.  We work to bring awareness of the horse to the non-equine community through exhibits at school functions, parades, local horse shows and the numerous festivals found in our local area of the Ozarks.  And finally, our favorite pass time,  trail riding with other gaited breeds, confirms the gaited Morgan as a solid gaited trail horse in our area.  We believe everyone riding a gaited Morgan does this with every ride.

The actual numbers of gaited Morgans are hard to confirm.  Just a small percentage of all American Morgan horses are confirmed as gaited, with another percentage out there that remains unidentified.

Just as with the American Bald Eagle, the white Rhino and other rare and endangered creatures, measures to preserve them have been successful in many cases. Even within the Morgan registry, there are lines being carefully preserved which we find admirable. We believe successes can be realized through education, creation and preservation.

We feel honored, excited, and responsible with the duty.
